Steve's Portside Pub   Steves Portside Pub is located in the quaint little Norwegian town of Poulsbo, Washington. It's a friendly place that sits right at the top of the Poulsbo Marina on Liberty Bay. It offers up an atmosphere that is as inviting to locals as well as boaters from all over with a reputation for the coldest beer and warmest company.

This photo depicts the Pubs' interior and myself at the board. The original concept of this mural was to take about 5 or 6 of the 'regulars' and paint them on site as a winter project. As the project began, more and more people became 'regulars', hence, now our small mural has grown to an estimated completion size of 36" x 96".

February 18, 2003   A few more bodies joining this still very limited group. The gentleman on the far right is our very own Publican, Steve Urand. Next to Irish Dave is Coach, and between them is Cleo the Wonderdog. Behind them I've added pool sharks, Karen and Thane,...but I'm not really sure of that positioning yet.

March 7, 2003    I've begun adding a bit more value to several of the people...and the cast of characters grows. Next to Publican Steve is his wife Dr. Ruth, and above them is Tom (best woodworker and biggest Teddy Bear in Kitsap County), to the upper left of Irish Dave is Little Debbie (a wonderful school teacher who probably has to look up to most of her students). To the right of Coach is Rockee who was our daytime Beertender and is loved by all.On the left of Irish Dave are Kurt and Jackie (transplanted here a few years ago from Denver, much to our good fortune...their boat is "True North" and a better Committee Boat for the Pub Regatta will never be found), going further left is "the Professor" (another teacher who's been a lot of places and done a lot of things and can certainly be the first to solve or start an argument about them). Next to the Professor is Andy (very sweet, very quiet and works on the Piers... so we can always manage to catch a glimpse of him sooner or later). By the way.... front row space has become absolutely Prime Property!

May 12, 2003    More values being added to the heads already up and new attendees are: Above Dr. Ruth and Rockee are Pilot Don and Yvonne (I believe Irish Dave and Pilot Don are our Official Portside Pub Representatives to all of the Seattle St. Patty's Day Festivities, and Yvonne is another one of our travelers -always on the go- when she's not taking care of that gorgeous garden, that is), above right of Irish Dave is Nan (our part-time bartender, dart player, pool shooter and Harry Potter Specialist), the Cowboy above Nan is Clint (if you want to hear hunting, tracking, and fishing stories...talk to this guy!), to the right of Clint are Navy Don and Eileen (Navy Don is retired Navy and has been known to take our Publican out a time or two to some of the other pubs for R & D...Eileen is another of our teachers, boy we make a lot of them here!), to the left of Clint is Cheryl (see the smile? It's always there.), on the very far left are Doug and Judy (transplanted from Iowa, both have a wonderful sense of humor and always ready to help with anything...is that an Iowa thing?) ** Note the addition of Steve and Ruths' parrot Murdock (on Steve's shoulder - far right)

August 2004   Now there will be a bit of a lapse here.... It's August 2004 and it's still in progress... I work on this mural in free time and the studio time has been taking over for a bit... but, please stay tuned... I'm back at it again, and more interesting characters are going up all of the time.
