Art & Music Expo Unveils Roster of Invitational Artists

Farmstock Festival of the Arts
August 2 & 3, 2008 - 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Bottom's Up Farms
13398 Manzanita Road NE, Bainbridge Island

The Bainbridge Island Art & Music Expo, now in it's second year, unveils the roster of artists who have accepted the invitation to exhibit at the Farmstock Festival of the Arts. Fifteen prestigious Pacific Northwest artists will contribute works, including: Elizabeth Sandvig (Francine Seders Gallery), Dionne Haroutunian (Baas Art Gallery), Hank Hayes (Puget Sound Group of Northwest Painters), Linda Hoard (Vision Gallery), Marj Hurlow (Bainbridge Arts & Crafts), Chris Jordan (Paul Kopeikin Gallery), Elizabeth Kay (Women Painters of Washington), Kim Kopp (Fetherston Gallery), Claudia McKinstry (Bainbridge Arts & Crafts), Deon Matzen (Women Painter's of Washington), Rachel Maxi (Baas Art Gallery), Natalie Niblack (Shoreline Community College), Kristin Tollefson (Bainbridge Arts & Crafts), Sharon Strauss (Bainbridge Arts & Crafts) & Kathryn Trigg (Ballard Works).

"The caliber of artwork this year is really high" says Curator & Art Consultant Elizabeth Gadbois. "I am very pleased at the cooperation between the artists and their galleries for this year's Art Expo. The original vision that I had for Art Expo was facilitating a climate where artists could connect with galleries, publishers and curators. Our invitational artist roster is a nice affirmation that we are heading in the right direction."

Also participating in the 2008 Art & Music Expo are Jeffrey Moose Gallery, Creativity Center, Oil & Water Art Supplies, Bainbridge Island Figure Drawing Association and many others. Speakers include Natalie Niblack (gallery director at Shoreline Community College), Dinah Brien (Songwriter, EMI Nashville) and Nancy Houghton (Music Therapy, Seattle Pacific College). Live musical performances and artist demos will take place throughout the day.

At night, the venue will give way to the Farmstock Concerts, to raise awareness of historic farmland on Bainbridge Island. Headliners for the concerts include Dan Tyminski Band, Hadley Caliman Quartet, Pearl Django and many others. Tickets on sale now at
